oh what a wonderful day!
Monday is not usually considered the best day of the week but today was exceptional! We had 3 visitors today. This morning, Ronald and Susan Hogan drove up to see our construction progress. Mr. and Mrs. Hogan hold a special place in both of our hearts. Katie & I enjoyed so many fun trips to market with Mrs. Hogan - we truly learned our shopping skills from one of the best! Thankfully, Mr. Hogan always had an excellent attitude no matter how much money we spent!
While they were here, we received our very first shipment from France! In March, Walter & I were lucky enough to secure a private meeting with the owners of La Maison de Savon de Marseille at their showroom outside of Avignon. After placing our order, we drove to one of the most charming cities in Provence, L'Isle Sur La Sorgue, known for its fabulous antique markets. It is also home to one of our very favorite restaurants, Le Jardin du Quai. If you are ever in the area - it is a must!!
This afternoon, Mary Anna Smith, former owner of Lulu's Restaurant in Valdosta, Ga was in town from New York City. We were just thrilled that she took the time to visit with us. She is a fountain of knowledge and we were so grateful for all of her wonderful advice! Lulu's was the scene for many of mine & Walter's wedding anniversaries... Wish we could celebrate our 19th with her tonight!
Wishing Susie & Walter a very Happy Anniversary!
We are steadily trying to improve our French and hope you don't mind studying along with us. This phrase sums up our day, "La vie est faite de petits bonhuers." Life is full of little pleasures... and we were certainly blessed with those today!
